1991: Men's Soccer National Champions Once Again
Boca Raton, Fla. - Lynn University's men's soccer team was able to hoist the program's second NAIA National Championship in front of the home crowd with a 2-1 overtime victory against Midwestern State following two consecutive years of coming up just short. Lenin Steenkamp earned the tournament's Most Valuable Player accolades in head coach Shaun Pendleton's first season.
Highlights of the season:
- Lenin Steenkamp and Darren Read named NAIA All-Americans.
- Lenin Steenkamp named a NSCAA First Team All-American while Neathan Gibson was a Third Team selection.
- Team recorded the second unbeaten season (22-0-2) in program history.
- Shaun Pendleton was named NAIA National Coach of the Year.
