1992: Women's Soccer Breaks Through for First National Crown
Tacoma, Wash. - Just seven years after the creation of the women's soccer program, Lynn University is on top as NAIA National Champions. The Fighting Knights knocked off the defending title-holders Pacific Lutheran 1-0 to collect the first national crown in program history and third overall for Lynn. Dorte Nielsen was honored as the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Highlights of the season:
- Joyce Parston-Roth, Lene Hansen and Dorte Nielson were named NAIA All-Americans.
- Lene Hansen, Dorte Nielson and Cindy Marcial honored as NAIA All-Americans.
- Recorded first 20-win season in school history.
