Abstract
This poster shows an overview of the analysis of property crime data in 2022 in relation to geographical regions, state populations, and rural v urban regions. The statistical data from Statista was used in this analysis. The research question was What has a statistically significant effect the property crime rates? I hypothesized that the crime rates in the southwest will be statistically different than the crime rates of the other sections. For the populations, I hypothesized areas with larger populations would have higher property crime rates. Regarding rural v urban regions, I hypothesized that urban areas would have higher property crime rates. ANOVAs were performed on each of the three data sets to identify if any statistically significant differences were present. The results showed only the state populations have a statistically significant difference between data points. Further, the T- tests run on the state populations data revealed only three comparisons did not have a statistically significant difference.
