Description
This text is a compilation of readings and videos that examine the process of gender identity from a historical, social, and psychological perspective. Philosophic and psychological readings introduce the student to an examination of their own perceptions on gender and the theories that form the bases of comprehending the various gender identities that currently exist. The material presents the concept that gender, which traditionally was perceived as binary, is actually arbitrary and therefore it neither predicts nor limits individual behavior and acceptance.
