On April 8, 2026, Lynn University hosted the annual Holocaust and Genocide Awareness Program. This year, the program focused on Native American communities.

Moderated by Robert Watson, distinguished professor of American History, the panel featured Cheyenne Eete Kippenberger and Pedro Zepeda of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and Adam Soulor of the Mohegan Tribe. The event examined the legacy of genocide, persistent misconceptions and the ongoing challenges facing Indigenous peoples—while also emphasizing resilience and cultural strength.

The program also featured piano performances by Professor Roberta Rust, a Lakota descendant, who introduced a piece by Native American composer Connor Chee.
