Abstract
The Citizenship Project requires students to focus on a civic issue, problem or topic while engaging in experiential learning opportunities and community service work with local, community-based groups. Students work side by side with community police officers on service projects designed to improve the immediate conditions that give rise to public safety issues. Emphasis is placed on relationship building between police officers and its neighborhood citizens to form meaningful cooperative partnerships to better address and solve community problems.
