Abstract

2024 is a super election year – with the elections for the European Parliament, many European states holding general elections, but also in the United States, where the presidential elections will be held in November. At this occasion, the Amicale has the pleasure of welcoming Daniel Ketcher from Lynn University in Florida, Adjunct Professor on Justice and Civic Life, who will speak about “The Right to Vote: A Pillar of Democracy”. He will give an overview on the historical evolution of voting rights in the United States, including an intersectional perspective, voter suppression and election interference, as well as misinformation campaigns and their consequences. At the end of the presentation, there will be ample time for questions and discussions with Daniel Ketcher. Join us on 12 June from 12:30-14h at Salle 8 at the Palais!
