Abstract
The study objective was to understand to what degree cross-cultural competency could be developed through a global virtual team case assignment. The investigation included quantitative and qualitative analysis from a sample of 77 MBA participants at two institutions (US and France). Measures of impact were determined in a pre/post study design over three months utilizing the Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Test. Narrative data shed light on how participants developed cross-cultural competence. Statistically significant results were observed for three subscales of the CQ - cognitive, motivational, and behavioral. The authors concluded that virtual team instructional design has merit in graduate education.
