Abstract
This article proposes the Transformative Leadership Development Model (TLDM) as a conceptual framework for fostering leadership in the college classroom. Integrating social learning theory, the Social Change Model, and leadership best practices, TLDM emphasizes collaboration, self-reflection, and student empowerment. The model bridges leadership theory and pedagogical practice by providing discipline-agnostic strategies for intentionally developing student leadership capacity. Although TLDM has not yet been empirically validated, it provides a foundation for future research and classroom experimentation. TLDM offers educators a practical framework for creating learning environments that promote leadership, engagement, and meaningful student growth.
