Commissioned by Marc Reese and the Lynn University Conservatory of Music for the 2020 Roger Voisin Memorial Trumpet Competition as part of the Kay Commissioning Project. The Children of Achelous by Kenneth Amis was completed on 20 October 2019. The Children of Achelous was premiered by Marc Reese, Vince DiMartino and Lisa Leonard on 9 January 2020 at Lynn University, Boca Raton, Florida.

The score is displayed via ISSUU with permission by the composer.
