Kathleen Clunan, Lynn Archivist and one of the founding nuns of Marymount College, stands in the circular driveway in front of the Schmidt building holding a blue plastic cup that reads, "Thank You for saving our college" on the first Founders Day on March 29, 2006. The cup is a reference to Nov. 1, 1971 when Marymount College students fashioned empty soup cans with labels that read, “Help save our college” to greet Dr. Donald E. Ross as he arrived at the financially-troubled Boca Raton college to purchase the library books.
