Lynn recognized a pioneer in its athletic history by honoring Paul Turner. Turner served as the Director of Athletics from 1984-1993 where the Fighting Knights won three national titles (1987 – men’s soccer; 1991 – men’s soccer; & 1992 women’s soccer), he created male and female student-athlete awards and raised the athletic grade point average from 2.78 to 3.21 during his tenure. He also took leadership of the baseball program in 1992 and guided Lynn to a 37-10 record (.787), which still stands as the third-most victories in school history. Turner’s contributions were not limited to athletics, as he served as the Dean of students from 1984-2013 and the Office of Retention.
