Recruited by women’s professional tour pioneer Peachy Kellmeyer to Marymount College in 1973, Meyer went undefeated in match play during her freshman year. In the spring of 1974, she won the women’s national collegiate singles championship in a thrilling three-set battle. Turning professional after her collegiate victory, Meyer played for eight years on the women’s tour, reaching a career high world ranking of No. 14. She also competed in World Team Tennis as a member of the Indiana Loves. Remaining active in tennis as a U.S. coach for international junior competition and a supporter of Indiana junior tennis, Meyer was inducted into the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2005 and the ITA Women’s Hall of Fame in 2010.
