Description
On March 25, 1965, four Marymount College students, led by Jacqueline Paterno, organized a "Celebration March" from Boca Raton City Hall to Ebenezer Baptist Church in solidarity with civil rights marchers, led by Dr. Martin Luther King, as they reached Montgomery, Ala. from Selma, Ala.
A March 28, 1965 edition of the Boca Raton News reported that it was Boca Raton's first Civil Rights march.
